Recovering Virtual Disks

Virtual disk recovery enables you to restore individual virtual disks from image-agent backups, Hyper-V backups, and VMware backups instead of requiring a full recovery.
This significantly reduces the RTO of many recovery operations.

  1. Navigate to the Backup Catalog tab on the Recover page.
  2. Select a Hyper-V, image, or VMware backup.
  3. Click Recovery Options.
  4. Select Recover Virtual Disks.
  5. Select Confirm.

The virtual disk export format for VMware is VMDK.

The virtual disk export format for Hyper-V is VHD for Gen1 or VHDX for Gen2 Hyper-V native formats.

The image-agent backup virtual disk export format is RAW.

  1. Navigate to the Virtual Disk Recovery tab on the Recover page.
  2. Select the asset.
  3. Click View Details.
    - Image Level
    - VMware
    - Hyper-V
  1. Navigate to the Virtual Disk Recovery tab on the Recover page.
  2. Select the asset.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Confirm the deletion.
