This release includes the enhancements and fixes described below.

Windows agent

This release includes an updated Windows agent. The 10.8.5 agent is recommended for most 64-bit Windows assets.

Alma 9 operating system for new Gen 10 and Unitrends Backup appliances

Introducing the Alma 9 operating system, offering improved performance and security! Beginning in release 10.8.5, newly imaged Gen 10 and Unitrends Backup appliances now run on the Alma 9 operating system.

In this initial Alma 9 release, these features are not yet supported:

●   Protection of NAS NDMP devices

●   Protection of SharePoint environments

●   Protection of Cisco UCS service profiles

●   Push installation of Windows agents

●   Helix Auto-update

Fixes

The table below lists fixes included in this release.

Component	Fix
Appliance network	●   Resolved an issue seen when network PREFIX and SUBNET were defined simultaneously.
Nutanix AHV	●   Resolved an issue introduced in recent Nutanix updates where snapshots were not properly cleaned up within Nutanix following backups.
Windows agent	●   Resolved an issue where Hyper-V virtual machine paths including apostrophes could cause backup failures.
