Cancel
You can cancel a restore that is in progress or paused.
Cancelling stops the operation where it is.
IMPORTANT Data that the restore already wrote to the destination stays there.
UniView Portal does not remove it for you, so the destination is left in a partially restored state.
Review the destination after you cancel and delete anything you do not want to keep.
NOTE Only users with the Superuser or Admin role can cancel a recovery operation.
To cancel a recovery operation, follow these steps:
- Find the operation that you want to stop in the Recovery Operations grid.
- Click the three-dot menu
at the right end of its row. - Click Cancel.
Hover over the item to see a reminder that data already restored will remain in the destination.
The Cancel Operation dialog opens and asks you to confirm. - Do one of the following:
- Click Cancel Operation to stop the restore.
- Click Keep Operation to close the dialog and let the restore continue.
The Status column changes to Cancelling while UniView Portal stops the operation.
When the cancellation succeeds, a message confirms that the operation was cancelled and the status changes to Cancelled.
IMPORTANT You cannot undo a cancellation.
A cancelled restore cannot be restarted from its row.
To recover the same data, start a new restore.
NOTE Operations that have already completed, failed, or been cancelled cannot be cancelled.
Cancel is not available for those rows.
NOTE You can cancel one operation at a time.
There is no way to cancel several restores in a single action.
NOTE Cancelled operations stay in the Recovery Operations grid for seven days so that you can review them.
After seven days, they are removed from the grid.
To see who cancelled an operation and when, open its restore details.
If the cancellation fails
If UniView Portal cannot cancel the operation, an error message displays the reason and the restore stays in its current state.
You can click Cancel again to retry.
