New features

Asset Details view

Clicking a bar in the Last 30 Backups widget on the Datto Backup Portal dashboard for Endpoint Backup v2 assets now opens a details drawer for that day's backups.
The drawer shows the asset name, status, organization, policy, and technical details, along with a list of recovery points and their health.
The asset details view for Azure assets is coming soon.
You can download change and error logs directly from this view.

Enhancements

Dashboard widget: Last 24 Hours Backup Completion

The dashboard widget now shows counts of successful, partially successful, failed, and missed backups using color-coded indicators.
Use it to quickly spot recent failures or degraded backup runs without opening individual assets.

Degraded backups no longer appear as successful in BackupIQ

BackupIQ health calculations no longer treat degraded backups as successful.
Degraded backups also no longer reset your success-based timers, so alerts like "Time without a successful backup" stay accurate.
BackupIQ continues to reference the most recent non-degraded backup as the last successful backup.

Restore dialog updates: restore points color coding

Restore points in the Recover dialog now display a color-coded indicator showing whether the backup completed without errors, with errors, or with VSS errors.
Hover over the indicator to see a tooltip explaining what the color means.
This helps you quickly identify which restore point to use before starting a recovery.

Added warning when restoring backups with errors

When you select a restore point that failed with errors, UniView now shows a warning before the restore proceeds.
The warning lets you continue with the degraded backup or cancel and choose a different restore point.
This helps you make an informed choice before starting a restore that may have missing or incomplete files.

Dashboard: last 30 backups

The old Last 30 Days of Backups widget is now called Last 30 Backups and shows one bar per scheduled backup attempt instead of only completed backups.
A grey bar indicates a scheduled backup that did not run, and updated tooltips show the status of each attempt.
This gives you a more complete picture of backup activity over the last 30 attempts.

Added passphrase validation before restore

UniView now validates your customer-managed encryption passphrase before starting a restore, instead of only after the restore has started.
If the passphrase is incorrect, you see an error message immediately and can correct it before continuing.
This applies to both file-level recovery and bare metal recovery.

Alternate restore recovery operations

Recovery Operations now shows a Completed with issues status when a restore finishes with some files restored successfully and others failed.
No rollback is required for restores in this state.
This gives you a more accurate picture of partial restore outcomes.

Updated re-auth pop-up

The reauthorization pop-up for Spanning Microsoft 365 backups now explains that Microsoft is retiring its Exchange Web Services API in favor of the Graph API.
It highlights the October 1, 2026 deadline and recommends reauthorizing each Microsoft 365 account as soon as possible to avoid interrupted Exchange backups.

Fixes

  • Fixes an issue where BackupIQ generated false alerts for tenants using the Spanning Salesforce and Autotask integration.
    Alerts now only apply to tenants marked with the Spanning integration, and tenants are batched correctly in the alert job.
  • Fixes an issue where UniView generated a notification for an asset that had already been decommissioned.
  • Fixes an issue that prevented an admin user from restoring a file when they belonged only to a specific group instead of having Global Scope access.
    Admin users can now perform restores using their group-level permissions.
